Candid Student Reports The following reports were written by members of Shodor Scholars Program during the second day of the program. Some elements may have been removed/edited for various reasons, but the text that remains is in the student's own words. Michael I liked the interesting Excel tricks. I would like individual computers, not two people to one. Artem i liked all the cool stuff we can do on excel. i had no idea a lot of the stuff was possible (on excel). i hope we can do some subjects using all the information and tricks learned. Alex One thing I learned today that I liked was the forest fire iteration of a nearest neighbor problem. Something that would have made it better would have had more choices of parameters in the fire scenario. Symone I liked the burning of the trees activity. It was fun to burn the trees to spell things. I can't think of things to improve and it not be about math. Nothing else really. Amanda I liked the wide variaty of learning that we do. I am very impressed. They do not have anything to improve on. All the information that is being taught to me will come in good use in my AP Courses. Nick 1. The Laplace Relaxation. Just great. 2. Mention that there are only 3,000 bananas. 3. It seems to be more unified today. David, Molly, and Francine We liked the diffusion graph and the forest fire activity. We also enjoyed the rope model comparisons. At lunch, we liked playing Ultimate Frisbee. We think that we could probably get to know each other better. Nitin 1) The new uses of excel I found out today 2) Go faster 3) It was fun Vishal After using interactive activities on excel, I am very interested in Nearest Neighbor concepts. I liked the various material and help presented. There is nothing that I feel needs improvement. Morgan and Kate Today we had fun working with iterations. It was so inspirering. We think that the snack cuality could improve, and it would be nice if the seats where cursiony. We look forward to coming tomorrow and having lots more fun!! Hniang I think this course will help me a lot.I like the activities and I think it is helpful . I tink if w ecan get a pc per person, it will be the best for the students.
