Candid Student Reports The following reports were written by members of Shodor Scholars Program during the eighth day of the program. Some elements may have been removed/edited for various reasons, but the text that remains is in the student's own words. Michael Not a single complaint today. A bit of turmoil within the group, but Bob Two and Jacob (our group's mentorguything) are both wonderful and very helpful. David I liked the fact that there were no "talking heads" today. The only complaints I have are ones within the group, but other than that, nothing today. Bob 2 and Jacob (our "undergrad" mentor) were helpful. Amanda The Project is coming along well. All that we need to do is to put the information together and pratice our presentation. We will do that tomorrow. I'm so sick of ebola! I must be a expert of ebola by now. That's why Shodor makes all of their interns alot do projects, so that their interns can be experts. Artem working independently was a new experience. sometimes it was hard to find the right information from the right sources but overall i think i learned a lot from finding information with my group. I think we will do fine with the project in terms of time. Francine Today, I worked on my project. I am almost done with my part. Tomorrow, I am going to help my partner finish hers as well. I think that starting on the presentations on Tuesday rather than Wednesday was a good idea. Nick Our project is interesting, but since our model is giving bizarre results, it's proving to be harder than we had expected. I think we've been given enough time, though. Hniang Today is fun and so as worry because of our project. It was being fun to work with a group and discuss something 2gether.I'm sure we are going to make a great project even though we haven't finish it and our model haven't work yet too. Thank for today!!! Morgan Today's project work was a little rough. This project may have been better for me if there was a specific project outlined. I liked every person in the group having a computer. It gives a more hands-on aspect to the program. Symone Today we worked on our projects again. Things were going good until Nick got stuck on one part because of the information found in the book didnt check out when we tested it on organicchemistry.com. I don't think we've had enough time. Sammy, Alex, and Matt Today, we worked more on our group projects. Our group is having a tough time figuring out how to build our model. It is really challenging, but we did make progress and we should be able to finish in time to present Friday. Thanks in part to much help from the staff and interns especialy David. It would help if we had more time to do our models, so that we didn't have to rush anything and could make them exactly like we wanted them to turn out. Luke Today I was happy when our model finally worked after the iterations were changed. Again, I wish the computers were faster, but thats unchangeable. Nitin & Vishal We were happy to these projects becuase we have gained much experience by doing research. It is helpful to work in this environment. I think there is enough time to work on the project Molly today we got to work on our projects all day. we have made really good progress. we are going to start on our power point tomorrow. Kate today we worked some more on our presentations. I think we are on scedual, but friday may change my mind. I had fun making graphs today. |
