Candid Student Reports The following (emails) were written by members of the Scientific Programming class during the ninth session of the program. Some elements may have been removed for various reasons, but the text that remains is in the student's own words. Well, I ironed out one bug that was bugging me (no pun intended) for a little bit. My applet actually graphed what I wanted it to do, instead of dying on the first step. We still have a minor visual bug but it's ok. Albert We improved our program to show the user carbon decay. It now gives the number of changed carbons in a time step. We hope to make this program in to an applet. Roshen We are now finished with our program and are now trying to improve it. We are going to allow people to put in the number of atoms and making a graph of the results Carla Today I and my partner completed most of our project, which displays the height of a bouncing object over time. Robbie I enjoyed today's class. I am learning many new things like parametric equations. Samuel Today we continued work on our projects. We made an applet that graphed the parabolic motion of an object and graphed the x and y position graphs in parametric mode. This gave us a two dimensional representatino of the motion of the object. It took some time but we got the graph working, and next will work on graphing the parametric equation for a charged particle under the influence of an electric and magnetic field. Daniel Today we continued working on our projects. In my group we worked with Bethany on finding the number of people present at a mall. We will finish it next week and we used PERL. Fei I'm very happy with my group. We got all the preliminary work done. All we have to do is put in options for input, and work out some visual problems. Joshua Climer
