Candid Student Reports

The following (emails) were written by members of the Math Explorations, Session A during the third day of the program. Some elements may have been removed for various reasons, but the text that remains is in the student's own words.

Day three of my workshop is still great!  Today has been fun and
informative.



Amber

Today was a fun day because we got to play with Mac Spartan
and we did some cool stuff, making models of atoms and calculating their energy.
        And we started our projects--it wasn't easy to pick a to pick ours,
but we came through with one idea.
                And that was it!!!...



Misael

 Today was also a very succesful day. We started on our projects and
acually got somewhere with them. I really enjoyed the stimulation of my mind
and the thinking that that I had to make myself do in order to make progress
into the matter in question. It was long and drawn out and an agonizing
process, but the results and the rewards are exciting.
        I had a lot of fun and learned a lot, but to tell you the truth, I
wouldn't mind if it was finished with today.

Today I worked on the macspartan which was interesting and fun.
I was able to visualize the atoms forming the molecules.  In the afternoon we
worked on the project and that was fun, yet challenging.
