Candid Student Reports

The following reports were written by members of Math Connections during the first day of the program. Some elements may have been removed/edited for various reasons, but the text that remains is in the student's own words.

Mauricio

Today was fun working with graphs in the morning. It had forgotton about rise over run. Working with the decoding words was even fuinner i really didnt get it at first but kmnow i understand. I want to play with it mnore!!

In the first part of the day we worked on all types of graphs, it was a little slow but it was a good review. Then we worked on codes. We worked on codes in the army and other codes, that was the best part of the day.

I learned a lot about decoding messages. It might prove very useful further down in the road. It was very fun and educational. I liked working in groups. I hope the rest of the week is this good.

today we made graphs and we explain the similar and difference then we did a very fun activity by decodeing a message

today was a challenge but i got it @ the last minute groups was great and i want to do more of it

Today was the first day of math"c'' We first talked about graphs, made graphs, and then saw graphs! Then de deciphering came. Hard,easy, easier, wow this is the easiest. Very wonderful. it not only stretches my mind but increase my want for more science and math. Dodoop see my mind is tired!

its was pretty cool and i learned more about graphing than i did in a whole year of algebra. but some sections were dragged out to long and got boring. over all it was good enough better than watching tv.

The first thing we did today was work with graphs. It was challenging, as it dealt with some things that I had not seen yet. The basic principles were the same, so that helped me.
After break, we started to work on decoding messages. This was a lot easier for me, but it still took a while. It would have been nice to have more computers for the group, but on the other hand my group was very good about helping each other to get the answers.

i really liked today because i had a chance to explain the whole concept of graphing to someone. the one thing i did not like is the fact that the sunlight was too direct; and my favorite thing was the decoding activity.

Today we learned how to graph different equations. Also we learned how computer programs are connected to math. Last we learn that milarity uses math to decode messages and make them to so they can keep it serect.

Today day was very bad it is boring this camp gets on my nerves.
