Candid Student Reports

The following reports were written by members of Math Connections during the fourth day of the program. Some elements may have been removed/edited for various reasons, but the text that remains is in the student's own words.

Kelvin

we did groups and found and we tried 2 find how we r going 2 have a cookie stand

Pateryl

today, we worked with the math theroy, we learned terms of the graphs. We also worked with exsel to figure outn if you could write a letter without picking up your pencil. Afterwards we learned how to write simple graphs, as well.

Mauricio

Today we worked on vertices degrees and how we can fiund out if we can draw through a figure without retracing the steps. It was hard at first but then i go tit. It was also fun trying to find no solution problems (problems with no solution).

Xavier

i thought that today was a good day i thought bobby did a good job discussing graphs

Sean

Today was about graphing and some of the puzzles in graphing. It was very challenging and weird.

Robert

Today we learned about graphing and how the different ones connect. We learned which ones were impossible and possible. That's what we learned today.

Bianca

today we did and talked about different types of graphs. then we discused different non-solution problems.

Victoria

Today at Shodor, we had a great time. First we talked about the graph theory. There was something about isomorphic shapes, degrees of a vertex, and edges. This was pretty much a review for me, though alot of the puzzle challenges were exciting. I learned about a man named Euler and "his" circuit. I really like this camp! But tomorrow is the last day :-(.

Britomarte

Today we worked on problems involving the degree of a vertex. It was a little frustrating that most of the problems we were given were unsolvable. Sometimes we knew beforhand, sometimes we were told after five or ten minutes of work.

Elvis

today bobby made a fool out of us by doin some hard probelm and other things but it was fun

Andrew

Today was about some graph thing. It was ok, but it was stretched out way too long and got extremely boring. I hope tommorrrow will be better!

William

i did not like today because the activities were infuriating. my least favorite activity was the one about the cookie stands, which was so unyielding and slippery that most of the class had no chance of finding the answer in one day.
