Recursion Activities
-
Sequencer
In this activity, students learn about number patterns in sequences and recursions. Students chose and adjust a starting number, a multiplier, and an add-on. This sequence is then graphed according to a chosen number of steps.
-
Rabbits and Wolves
This activity allows students experiment with a simple ecosystem consisting of grass, rabbits and wolves. As a result, students gain a better understanding of probabilities, chaos and simulation.

Recursion
This is a graphing activity for recursive equations. The user enters up to three recursive equations in the form un equals some operation involving un-1. When the user is ready to graph the equations, all the equations can be seen on one graph. The values of the points can be viewed in a seperate data chart or on the graph by moving slider bars along the graph. The user may change the window of the graph, flip through the equations, connect or disconnect the data points, or go back to the equations page to make adjustments and regraph.
