Candid Student Reports The following reports were written by members of Medicine and the Biosciences during the fifth day of the program. Some elements may have been removed/edited for various reasons, but the text that remains is in the student's own words. Whitley today we talked about calories and how they affect your everydat activities. we ewent through and did a 24v hour outline of the things we do most days and the found out how many calories we needed to eat every day and we also found out if we were getting to many calories aday. Kyle Today we calculated our calorie requirements based on out age, height, weight, gender, and activities. We learned about our B.E.E, and then did a computer model of obesity. It was really fun, especially the computer modelling. Zach Yeah, well today is the last day. We got to work with Stella again today. We made a new model on calories, metabolism, and exercise. I thought that was fun. We also had to do a survey on this workshop. That was really boring. All in all I thought the workshop was fun. Linda We made a new model in STELLA today. It was basically about calories. I found out that one pound is 3500 calories. I also found out some stuff about nerve cells and how information gets spread throughout the body through them. William i reallyn liked today. my bfavorite thing was fiddling with the stella model. it was hilarious when i set eating to 10000 and everything else to 0. i gained 1,042.9 extra pounds of fat a year! Robert Today was a good day because wer learned about calories and how men have a higher calorie rate than a women and how to decrease the rate. Bianca today was fun we finish a calorie graph.then we did a different graph on calories again.i really like the t-shirt then we took a picture. Marquita Today we figured out how many calories we hade to eat a day. I hace to eat over 1000 calories . We made a model about our information. I had alot of fun here on my first time. Victoria Today I had a great time. We all weighed ourselves and heights. This is the last day. |
