Candid Student Reports

The following reports were written by members of Math Explorations, Session C during the third day of the program. Some elements may have been removed/edited for various reasons, but the text that remains is in the student's own words.

Today we had a lot of fun. We played a game called fire on the computer and explored probability. There was a __% chance that the trees next to, above, and below would catch on fire. We also did tessellations on the wall of the Shodor building.


Nathalie

Today we did more work on proportions and patterns. We got to do a couple of activities that were cool. It was fun that we got to draw our tessellations on the side of the building. The forest fire activity was fun, too.


David

Today we talked about probability and the different variables behind it. Then we talked about tessellations and how to put them together. It was a fun day and I enjoyed it a lot.

I really liked what we did today. We played a game named Fire and then we designed tessellations. It was really fun. I like designing things.


Emily

Today we did tessellations. If you go outside you'll see it. We also had a lot of fun.


Timothy

Today I had a lot of fun because I learned about shapes and patterns. I am really enjoying this camp.

Today, in Math Explorations, we did a lot of fun things. Take this for starters we played the 3 online forest fire games. Then we make some tessellations on the computer. Finally, we made some tessellations of our own. Today was a very good day.
