Candid Student Reports

The following reports were written by members of Math Explorations, Session A during the second day of the program. Some elements may have been removed/edited for various reasons, but the text that remains is in the student's own words.

Today was fun, there wasn't anything I disliked about math today. It was fun exploring on the Internet looking for graphs.

Today we studied graphs and statistics. I had fun learning about these and am glad I have such a good teacher.

I liked the thing that did the graph for you. I did not like the thing with Excel® because it took a long time for me to figure out what was happening:^)

Today I learned more about the basic concepts of math and we worked on histograms. We should keep with this pace for the class for the rest of the week and learn more things.

Today was very entertaining, the only thing that bothered me today was the fact that I had to sit through an hour of lecture but overall the teacher is fun and the class is fun.

Today the class got a little better. I was hoping we would do more on the computer. I already knew about histograms so that wasn't as interesting for me. Hopefully we will get more chances to win some money.

Today we looked at histograms. We also figured the rules that we will abide by. I liked the way we split up into groups and answered questions as a group.

I learned about the graphs and I had a lot of fun going on the Internet and exploring.

Today we learned about graphs...particularly histograms... It was interesting at first because I hadn't learned about them. A suggestion would be to make the activities more fun. It was a different experience though.

I liked today's class learning about graphs. I did not like most of the talking. Overall I thought that today was fun.

Today was awesome. What I liked about today was that we got to do hands-on stuff on the computer. What I didn't like was doing the histogram. But everything was pretty good.

In today's class I learned how to find and prepare histograms on the computer. The only thing today that I didn't like that much was not getting to do as many hands-on activities. What we did today was take information about different things and then learned how to make histograms with them. I feel that what I am learning here will really help me out in the long run. I hope to come back to this camp next year and hope that other kids will come here and have as much fun as I did this year and meet some new friends.
