Candid Student Reports

The following reports were written by members of Math Explorations, Session A during the third day of the program. Some elements may have been removed/edited for various reasons, but the text that remains is in the student's own words.

I learned about probability. I liked burning down forests on the computer. I didn't like doing the birthday graphs thing.

JD and Drew

I learned how to burn down forests on the computer. I liked burning down forests using Interativate. I thought that it was all fun!

Gaelen

We learned how variables and percentages affected certain problems. Although we didn't like when we had to type in the numbers it was tight.

Joshua and Trokon

I learned about probability. I liked the tree graph and I disliked nothing!

Jackson

Today we learned how to make a histogram. I enjoyed using the computer to make the histogram. I did not like the way the room was so hot.

Electra

Today we learned how to make histograms. My partner and I made a histogram about the top 50 movie sales. Our class also learned about probability and how the fire in a forest relates to probability. I liked making a histrogram and learning about how a fire in a forest relates to probablity. I wish we had more fun activities...just a little bit.

Anu

Today, I learned how to make a histogram though I didn't like it a lot. What I liked was playing the forest-burn games! Burn baby burn! So that's a wrap!

Jordan

I learned more on probability. I liked using the Fire program to examine probability. I didn't like when my first computer crashed.

Sebastian

The graphs today were cool. I liked making the histogram. The burning flaming forests on the Interactivate site were cool.

Clayton

Today we made histgrams by hand and by computer. We also looked at the things we were doing the day before. I really enjoyed playing the different games on the computer that had to do with math. Today I would say that there was nothing that I didn't like and nothing I didn't learn from even though I had done some of the stuff before. But both of the science and math camps to me are level and the amount of fun is pretty much equal.
