Today's class was very interesting and exciting for the kids. The first topic of the day was natural resources; the question was: What are alternatives to using finite natural resources? The students gave examples such as using solar power, and hybrid gas/electric cars. Cornelia gave the students the chance to express their knowledge about natural resources, as well as learn some new material about them.

The second topic of the class was predator/prey relationships. To demonstrate the relationship between predators and prey, the students constructed their own STELLA® model with assistance from Cornelia. They modeled the relationship between foxes and rabbits two different ways, one was by going outside and playing a game similar to tag, except that one student was the fox while the other students were the prey. The next model was done by using a computer program called Stella®.

Lastly, after break, Garrett taught the students about positive and negative charges. To model this they also used a computer program, which was called Sim Surface.
