Candid Student Reports

The following (emails) were written by members of the Modeling Your World class during the first session of the program. Some elements may have been removed for various reasons, but the text that remains is in the student's own words.

Hello,
        today's work was about the water cycle.
DR.No taught us about how water evaporates, 
and turns into water vapor.  We also learned 
Dr.No likes to draw.  We learned that clay absorbs 
water better than cement, and asphalt.

       "Today we had fun. We learned about phosphurus. 
The class was manly about water. We worked with 
water and experimented with it."

       "Today in class we experimented and made models 
with and of the water cycle. We used the information to
learn about amounts of soluable chemicals such as 
phophorus and we explored  runoff and absortion of water
and how it efects the water cycle the water cycle.

        What's up Today we learned about the water cycle. 
We used stella to do the models on the computer. Dr. no taught
us about the evaporation of water, how water obsorbes in the
ground. We did an experiment about how water evaporates in 
to the good old Durham clay covered grass, and how it evaporates 
into the cement, other coverings over the dirt. we went on the
internet to look at rain fall and rain run off. Chris song a rap in 
the beginning of class telling us what we were going to do in 
class today and tommorow. We had alot of fun.

       Yo what's up richard? Today's class was so fun. We got 
to do all kinds of awsome things with water. Dr. No's classes 
rocked ( no ofence to Alton). We were able to do expirements
outside. The funnest part of all was at the beggining of class
when Dr. No rapped for us all.

        Dear Rich,
Hi.Today we played lots of games in math.They were very fun.
My favorite game was corner the queen.This afternoon Chris  
taught us about the water cycle.It was very,very fun.
