Candid Student Reports

The following (emails) were written by members of the Modeling Your World class during the first session of the program. Some elements may have been removed for various reasons, but the text that remains is in the student's own words.

our model is a hare and lynx food chain. they are stranded on an
imaginary island. the lynx are killing the hares. we made a graph that
showes the population of the lynx and hares.

Today's class was the best I liked it a lot. We used Stella to make
a model of the human population. Chris helped us make it.It was really cool.
After we finished we had to make another model, but this time we did it by
ourselves. We had to find out what the population of Lynx and Hares when
they live on a island by themselves. We did this model to find out that
they stay the same. After we did that we that we changed model. We put a
pulse in to make 100 lynx die in year 2.That made an unstable environment.
It was really cool.

Today we learned about the human population. We also learned about the
hare and lynx population.
