Candid Student Reports

The following reports were written by members of Modeling Your World during the fourth day of the program. Some elements may have been removed/edited for various reasons, but the text that remains is in the student's own words.

Kennia

This is the best camp every. We have learned about planes.

Elvis

today was a good day learning about wind tunnels and how to make wings. tomorrow willa good day. peace!

Kai

Today Bob2 cameto teach us about airplane wings. First we made paper wings. None of them worked very well. I would of liked is a longer class. If the classes were four hours is would like it more

Robert

Something I like was using the wind tunnel to make my wing fly. I think their was nothing you could improve.

Kyle

Today we talked about aerodynamics and made a model of a wing. The teacher put them in a wind tunnel and said whether they were good or not. Then we looked at models of airfoils in a wind tunnel on the computer. I had a lot of fun.

Bianca

Today was fun because we made a wing and put it in the wind tunnel to see if it would steadly fly. Mine flew well it was fun to me.

Ben

today bob 2 came here to talk about planes and aerodynamics. we tested our cardboard airfoils in a windtunnel that he made. we also messed around with a contraption called Microsoft FlightSim. we flew a Cessna plane over the white house.

Avery

Today I had a lot of fun building air foils and testing them in a wind tunnel. The first time, my wing didn't work, but when I put some holes in it, it worked, pretty well. It's suprising how many wings the wright brothers tested before they found the best. Too bad they didn't have computers.

Victoria

Today at Shodor we had a great time. First we talked about the Wright brothers and how they made their airplanes. Normally at school we don't get to do so much of these fun and educational things. SO g-o-o-o-d!
