In the morning the class started looking at fractals, and looked at Mandlebrot set. Then they started talking about probability. Alton first asked the class what they thought the definition of probability. The class looked at different examples of probability like ratios, fractions and percentages. To learn more, they went to the interactivate site and looked at a program called spinner. This program simulates some one spinning and arrow on a spinner. So instead of Alton having to do it manually the computer does it for him. After break the students experimented with probability using race cars and dice. One car had the numbers 1,2,3, the other car 4,5,6. So when ever the dice landed on 1, 2, or 3 the car with that number would go ahead. The students kept rolling the dice to see which car would win the race.
