The fourth day of class began with the students checking their email. Each student recieved an email that had questions for them to answer. The questions are specifically written to assist the students in making their personal Web pages. After all the students finished answering their questions, the class began to learn to write HTML pages. Using the HTML that they were taught, the students created their personal Web pages. After they finished writing the code for their Web pages they all recorded the URL of their page so that they will all have access to them from anywhere that they can find an internet connection.
After the break Bob2 talked to the students about science. They discussed chemistry and what it is. They looked at the periodic table and a physical model of an aspirin molecule. They then used the computer to look at the same model. They learned that the advantage of viewing the model on the computer is that you can run calculations and use a lot less time. Bob2 led students through the construction of a molecule as he talked about computational chemistry. Monte then talked to the students about chat rooms and rules. This information will be needed for the chatting that will take place with the scientists on Thursday. After they finished talking with Monte, Kirstin led the students in creating a list of questions that the students want to ask the scientists tomorrow.
