  • Today we went over the apprentices handbook and what to do and what not to do. Also we talked about what to wear and how to act in a work setting. We got our forms today and also we talked about work relationships. How u should not have a special relationship with someone at work because it could create conflict.

  • Today we learned about problem solving and binary functions and how the computer reads things. Dr.panoff taught us today about what a computer reads and how it can't read all numbers and can only read so much for example if you put in a x on a calculator it would equal to ten because that's how a calculator reads it also the samething with pemdas. Also we talked about the different types of problem solving and how their are different ways to solve a certain problem. This was really cool to me because I saw that their r always different directions u can go and lead up on the same path.

  • Today we learned about Unix and the terminal and how to use it. We learned that the terminal can be used for everything and how you can use the terminal to logins into a computer u r not at also we learned about the language of Unix and how that works and how to go through documents files and folders and how to go.up the tree, this was really cool and really hard to understand I think I will get better at it as I move on.

  • Today we learned about vensim and how it works we learned how people use modeling systems like vensim to figure out diseases and control them. Today we worked on a model and it was bout sick ppl and ppl who could get sick Phil helped us learn how to do it , it was confusing at first then I started to get the hang of it and I feel very strong about vensim overall I think I have learned a lot to do and that this is something I am very strong at.

  • Today we learned about agent’s sheets and how it works. I am not too good at agents sheets it is difficult for me but overall time I will get better. I was confused about the language and how to use it that’s where I was really messing up at. But as the day went on that day I got better with a lot of help from Iain and Phil. I feel I will need help in the future especially with counter I don’t fully understand how that works. Overall, today was a confusing day and I will need more practice , work , and understanding of agents sheets.

  • today we got our projects to work on they were very confusing it was hard to understand the documents and what they mean by them. I feel that i will need some help to get this project done because i dont fully understand everything about. I plan on coming back next weekend with liesle and geting the project done , is it hard yes but the task of this project is not impossible. We will get it done , right now we are in a tough spot because we are still trying to break down the document and get a full grasp of what phil wants us to do. overall we are kind of having a tough time but we will be ok and have the project done.

  • Today we worked on our projects with our partners. My partner is Leisle we decided to split up work and she would work on agents’ sheet and I would work on vensim. This was somewhat confusing but we started to get the hang of it with some help from Iain. My vensim model was on tagged fish, non-tagged fish , tagged seals , and non-tagged seals. We had to create a vensim that when we made it , it would look like the graph Phil had showed us. Overall we had a good day of work today because we had finished the whole project by the end of the day

  • Today we presented our projects we have been working on for the past two saturdays these projects were hard and very difficult. I worked with my partner on this she helped me along the way we both worked with each other on how to get things done. Presenting my project was very different for me today , I was a little nervous at first because I didn't know what the mentors would think. Then as i went along the nerves started to go away and I felt more and more confident about my presentation.

  • Today I learned about how to change different variable and how to use them in the console. Also I learned how to check if my program is running right by making something print out in the console. Also we are starting to learn how to print in the console of which was really nice because now on I can check each of my programs by printing things in the console log.

  • Today I learned about the two different loops’s which are for and while loops. We worked on how to use both for and while loops. How each of them works in different ways also how to use them. I felt that for loops were very easy to use because I could put my variable, my value, and an if statement.

  • Today I learned about arrays and how they work and also how to use them. We learned how to access arrays and how to pull them out and how to make one. At first this was very complicated to me but it seem to get easier as we learned more about it.

  • Today I learned and notice that sometimes you got to hear people and listen to people because some two heads or bigger than one. Also today we got our groups for our new project in my group is Irene and ojas. I feel I have a great group because both of these people are very smart and are hard workers.

  • Today I worked on my project with my group we almost finished our project but there still some things I must do the project was somewhat hard and we did need help some times but I feel as though our project was very good and successful I am happy that these were my group partners.

  • It was a very hard day for me because the budget we have been working with was saved on okay computer he was not there today so we had to redo the whole project in that time span it was kind of easy because we have done it once but there are still things that were difficult to do this day taught me to always have a backup and be prepared for an situation

  • Today we learned about parallel computing using bccd a program we used to learn about different things I learned a lot today about the importance of parallel computing and how the whole point of it is to do different things at one time so that you don't have to waste time.

  • Today we learned about parellel computing and how it works and about threads and how we have a master thread then smaller threads.also aaron and moobean showed us a program that uses parallel computing and how when using it makes things easier. also i did my parallel project with my pi program.this is still kind of diffcult for me but i feel like i am starting to get it

    Today i learned about Inkscape and how to work it. Also i made a logo which you will be able to see on my website next to my name. This was not very hard due to the tutorial that was given to me to follow. But the hard part was trying to come up with a idea for my logo. This took me a long time to be creative and think of logo to make. It also took a lot of help from friends to come up with this i liked this challenge because it made me think very hard. But overall i learned about Inkscape and how to use it.

    Today i worked on my final website hld and i documented a workshop.The hld was very difficult at first because i didn't understand how to make one. But then i looked at the temple and started to answer the questions that were given to me like the different requirements i would want someone to complete . Also i had to document a workshop which means i had to sit in a workshop and listen to the lesson and right a summary about it today the lesson was about vensim an how it worked. We made a model which was the rabbit and hawks model this was hard for some kids at first but i saw that kids were understanding more of it towards the end.

    Today i worked on my final HLD i finished it today it was not to hard after.I got the hang of it i understand what i was supposed to do. i cant wait to see who gets my HLD and see how they do. I put my own touch to the HLD so that mine is different from everyone else's but i didn't make it difficult.

    Today i worked on gimp and played around with it still trying to get use to using it. I want to be come a better photshopper and learn how to do things better because right now my photos look photo shopped. I would like to get to the point were you cant tell that my photo is photoshopped.

    Today i worked on getting my website together and becoming better at it. I have worked on it but their somethings i would like to add to it to make it look cooler and nicer. Like certain things in my back ground and a drop down menu which i would like to add.
