Candid Student Reports The following (emails) were written by members of the Saturday Explorations Club during the first session of the program. Some elements may have been removed for various reasons, but the text that remains is in the student's own words.
I Learned that people who study animals have to have a observation test and experiments. One thing that we experimented was that"HOW CAN YOU MAKE WATER COME OUT FASTER".We tryed the tornado, sidewinder glug, smooth pour, spin, and 2 more tornados. Darius
Today I got to do some water expetiments and see how long it took all the water to pour out. I learned that for some bottles it took longer for all the water to pour out, and then for other bottles it took a shorter period of time. I thought it was fun and messy. So who ever reads this paragrah should try it. Kati
Today in Saturday Exploration Club, I learned about how sometimes it depends on what you're doing to find the solution to a scientific or mathematic problem. The class concluded this by doing a simple experiment with water. We filled various sized bottles with water and timed how long it took to empty them with different poring techniques. We concluded that the pouring action de- pended on the person and technique, we also concluded that when air was being forced in- to the bottle, it slowed down the pouring process. -Sonny
Today's class was very interesting. We did more hands on activities then before.First we did an experiment with water. The idea was to see how fast the water would clear out of each bottle. We tried four to five different ways to empty the bottle. We later recorded all our info on spread sheet. Dyumonwledeh
