Candid Student Reports The following reports were written by members of Math Explorations, Session D during the fourth day of the program. Some elements may have been removed/edited for various reasons, but the text that remains is in the student's own words.
Today, Math Explorations was about probability and fractions. It was a good review for me.
I liked today we had many math problems. I got on the computer again and we played a game with race cars and that was really fun. Our math teacher Bethany left us today but Alton taught us and another man but he came on later. My silly joke: What do you call banana peelings on the ground? Banana slippers!
We did probability and we raced. I have had a good time here and I want to come back. I think it is very fun. The teachers are nice.
Today we worked with probability. It was very fun. I made a lot of friends.
Today's workshop added on to what I already know about probability. It helps to demonstrate probability in a game the way we did. I liked the computer programs we worked with.
I had a good day. I learned about racing and probability and I also had fun. Peace.
Today we looked at probability and the Mandelbrot set again. For probability we raced cars with dice where if we rolled 1 2 or 3 Red would move and 4 5 and 6 were Blue's numbers. We also did it when Blue had 345 and 6 while Red had 1 and 2.
Today we learned about probability. We also went further in depth in the Mandelbrot set. We learned how to use excel to set up a Mandelbrot set. It was really fun.
Today we studied probability. I had a good understanding of this concept. I thought it was an okay day today as far as understanding the idea of the concept goes.
