Today, we learned a lot about parallel computing and cluster computing. We learned the basic concepts of cluster computing. We used terminal to explore the main functions and features of parallel computing. We also learned the difference between shared and distributed computing. Today weren't too hard. I feel like I understood everything just fine. I hope that we learn more about cluster computing and supercomputers next week.

This week we learned more about parallel computing and its purpose and its function. We watched short video about how super computers are used in many things. One thing that surprised me was that they use it to invent the best swimming suit imitating shark's skin. We also got to explore shodor's mini super computer. After learning all about super computer, we then did activity creating a good computer with limited money. From this activity, I learned how to save money and create my own computer that is actually fast and productive.

This week I got started on my fire project. I missed the last two weeks of the session, so today was the first day of working. I was paired up with Jopsy. Today we just worked on making the basic structure for the fire model. We worked on setting up the initial grid. We still need to work on the actual function part of the model. This project is the first one using the Java Script. Although it's little hard to understand how it works, I'm having fun with the system. I'm really excited to work with the codes more next time.

Today was the first official work day for our html and modeling projects. I was paired up with Akin and we decided to make a system system model for the cops and robbers project. Akin started off with Vensim. However, we had trouble balancing out the numbers and graphs. So we decided to start on the agent model using AgentSheet. We have the basic structure of both the Vensim and AgentSheet models. But, we still need to revise and work on the project.

This week was also a work day for our project. I worked on editing and designing my website for the first part of the class. I completed the tutorials. Then, Akin and I worked on our cops and robbers project using both Vensim and AgentSheet system modeling. Akin worked on the Vensim model and I worked on the AgentSheet model. We helped each other. We have the basic model, but we still need to revise so it would work better.

This week was an optional work day for our unfinished projects. I contacted Akin through email so we could work on the project today. Fortunately, he came. Although Akin has finished his website, I still needed to work on mine. I worked on finishing my website for a little while, then I started revising the agent model for our project. Akin was still having problem balancing out the graphs. He get a lot of help for Phil. I also have problem with the agent model, but Phil and Akin helped me.

Today was the presentation of our first project. For the first half of the class, each group presented their project. Our group's presentation was pretty good, but it could have been better. But this was our first presentation. I would practice my presentation skills for future projects. After lunch, we were introduced to programming languages for the first time. We used JAVA Script to explore variables and operators. At first it was really confusing because things I put in didn't give me what I expected. But as I experience more with it, I was kind of getting it. Yet, it is still confusing overall.

This week we learned how programming functions work. We learned how to put in codes in proper ways. We didn't write a code much today, rather we got to know what each command and function works. Although I kind of got the basic idea of what they are, I still have trouble how to use them. I need more practice with them. Hopefully, we learn more in depth about what we learned today next week. I'm excited to write Java Script codes by myself.
