I learned all of the rules that are required for me to follow. I learned that how you handle yourself in the work room can make or break you. I have never used a mac laptop before so I was able to get used to the controls and became more familiar with the laptop. I have heard about how we are going to make our own website. I really haven't paid much attention to how a website is created so now is a good time to learn. All I know about making a website is that it uses html. Phil I think has helped me the most. I found out that he is going to be my mentor. He was the first and last person to teach me and or help me. I didn't help anyone today but i hope to do so next week.

I learned that algebra lies. When you write down a number and you get an answer, you could get a different answer on the computer. I learned that when you play Sudoku you shouldn't scratch out marks or guess. There will always be a number that has to be there. I learned of a new and better way to play Sudoku. I want to learn more about how the computers calculations work and how to be precise with them. I got help with Calculators. I helped Lyndon Bowen with his Sudoku puzzle. He didn't even know what Sudoku was let alone know how to play it.

I learned about microsoft excel. We worked on how to color code the numbers and what the settings should be on. I couldn't remember how to put a link on an image in html. But after I asked Phil and worked on the script I figured it out. We haven't really started on making a webpage yet but we are learning about modeling on excel. Phil helped me remember about where to put the a tag in the scripting. Erick helped me with my laptop problem. My laptop wouldn't run excel so he switched it out. I helped Lyndon with his excel work. He didn't understand how to change all the letters to make them smaller.

I learned about command lines. I learned the commands for creating files and directories and checking or moving them. I made a Tree using commands. I used the commands to make folders/directories and files and put them in certain places. I hope to learn a lot more about command lines. Aaron explained the different commands and what they are used for. He made a power point, which really helped me remember the commands. I helped Braxton and Marcus with their commands. They needed a little help with either remembering what the commands did or when to put the commands.

We continued learning some more about Terminal. We also learned about Vensim and how to use it. I was able to build a model in Vensim. I am hoping to learn more about Terminal and its commands. Phil and Aron helped me the most today. Aron taught me more about Terminal. Phil helped me get started with learning Vensim. I helped Marcus and Mike with their Vensim graph. They had their equations different from mind so it was hard to figure out the solution but it worked out well when we asked for someone else's help.

We learned about AgentSheets. I learned about system modeling on AgentSheets. AgentSheets is a program that deals with system modeling in a 2d graph. I was able to create an immune and Dead person for AgentSheets. I wasn't able to complete it though because my computer refused to work properly and kept on freezing. We learned about AgentSheets. I did my part which was using AgentSheets. I am hoping to make more with AgentSheets. I really want to work with AgentCube. Phil and Erin helped me with my part of the group project. I was confused on where I should put the codes. I helped Lyndon and Braxton with their parts of the projects. Braxton and Lyndon needed help with the Vensim part.

I continued with me and my partners project. We are finished with the base requirments of our Agentsheets side of the project. We are going to add more detailed things to it later. I am hoping to learn more about the tools in Agentsheets. Phil, Ryan, and Iain help me and my partners project. I helped my partner, Lyndon, Nia, Braxton, and Marcus. All of them had problems with Agentsheets and I was able to help them. When they had questions for Vensim, though few, I couldn't answer them.

This week I leaned about reading the comments of others people's code and referencing them to the actual code. You would most likely need to know the other persons code for seeing how they edited it or know the best way you should edit it.

I learned about vocabulary for parallel computing. I also learned how to actually use Virtualbox. I knew about Virtualbox but i never tried it out. I worked with Virtualbox. I am hoping to learn more about Virtualbox. Aaron helped me a little when i was confused. I helped Braxton and Nia today. They both had a few questions that i was able to answer. One of the biggest supercomputer out there is Tianhe-2 in China. The Blue Waters supercomputer operates at 11.6 petaflops, or 11.6 quadrillion calculations per second. If it was put in the November 2012 Top500 list it would be ranked 3. They didn't release the HPCC results because they didn't use Linpack as their benchmark because they said Linpack wasn't a realistic benchmark.

I learned that the program language "C" is used in Emacs. I like learning new programs so I'm hoping to learn more of it. I am most proud that I was able to easily make the program for pi, radius, and A that they asked me to do. I am hoping to learn more about the different languages and how to properly use Virtual box. Today I was able to not have to ask for help because I understood the information pretty well. I wasn't able to help anyone today.

Today we learned more about parallel programming. We went over our pi.c and hello.c programs and made a new omphello.c program. We went over new commands about to compile a file which I tested out and seemed to get the hang of now. Today i also went back to terminal and had a refresh of what i needed to do.
