Vensim System Model
There are three interactive variables in our model:
Infection fraction- The infection rate in our model is the percent chance it takes for a healthy person to turn into a sick person. The higher we make the infection rate, the faster the population gets sick, and dies off. Since more people get sick, the infection spreads faster giving people less time to get to the doctor and possibly become immune. As the infection rate gets lower, less people get sick and it takes longer for the population to die off.
Death fraction- The death fraction represents the fatality rate of our disease. It works very similarly to the infection fraction and the changes in the death rate and infection rates affect the graph in similar ways.
Recovery fraction- The recovery fraction represents the percent of sick people that recover and are immune from the disease. The higher the recover fraction is, the faster the people recover making the spread of the disease a lot less. The lower the recovery fraction is, the death in the model increases and the disease spreads faster.
