The TechMath Advisory Committee is a nationally recognized team of leaders with extensive experience in education, business, computational science, and teacher education. The Advisory Committee meets once a year via teleconference to: (1) review progress and provide guidance for program adjustments; (2) seek ways to optimize the business-education model; and (3) make suggestions to enable teachers to prepare students for STEM careers. Advisory Committee members include:

June Atkinson , State Superintendent, NC Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI). Dr. Atkinson has served for 28 years as a chief consultant and director in the areas of business education, career and technical education, and instructional services. A former business education teacher, she has been involved in instruction and curriculum development throughout her career and is the author of the NC Building Career Pathways program.

Anthony Copeland , Assistant Secretary of Business Development and Trade, NC Department of Commerce. Oversees business development/trade including business recruitment, existing industry services, international trade/commerce finance in NC. Executive VP of General Counsel/Corporate Secretary BTI, 10 years. Counsel to the State Superintendent for NCDPI, and Assistant District Attorney for the 10th district in Raleigh.

Richard Dell , Executive Director, Advanced Vehicle Research Center of North Carolina, has more than 40 years of business and technical experience including more than 22 years with IBM in technical, engineering, education, executive, and strategic planning positions. Since 1988, he has directed a consulting business to promote international business development in Europe, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East.

Dan Reed , Vice-Chancellor for Information Technology for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Director of the Renaissance Computing Institute (RENCI), Chancellor's Eminent Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, member President George W. Bush's Information Technology Advisory Committee, and previously Director of the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA).

Margaret Wirth , NC Master Teacher, instructor in ECU's Department of Mathematics and Department of Mathematics and Science Education, Advanced Placement statistics instructor, Miliken National Educator, and National Board Certified teacher in mathematics. Wirth was a participant in "Developing Educational Leadership in Computational Science Project" and brings advisory expertise to TechMath from a teacher/participant perspective.
