Candid Student Reports

The following (emails) were written by members of the ISE class during the second session of the program. Some elements may have been removed for various reasons, but the text that remains is in the student's own words.

WE learned more interesting things today about the credibility of information on the internet and the like. We did an activity with a box of straws that was supose to have 40 straws in it like the box said, but three boxes had 42 and one box had 41. Then we found out that the box hadn't given the correct lenght measurments either. I was enlightened by what i learned today. Then we did an activity outside that showed us how information sometimes gets messed up. We stood in circle and passed whispered message. You probably know how it works. It was very edecational.

WOW, today I learned alot!We did lots of stuff today. We learned about sometimes ccomputers mess up by playing telephone. We learned that Federal law says that a community must have certain ozone levels.It was fun!!!

Today we learned about how some things are averages and aren't always constant. We also used chat programs and video chat. We also used OZIP (a program that can predict the level of ozone put on the internet by SHODOR) to see how difficult it is to get the ozone level to the legal level. We also played telephone.[:^)

Day flew by. Started with Chatting on IRC. Moved on to CU C Me, had lots of fun with that. Alton did straw activity, conclusion: Turst No One! Break, and game of Telephone, learend the more hands data goes thrgouh, the more corrupt it is. Bob2 clsoed the day with a modeling lecture, about OZIP.

today we got to chat with other. and we got to play with vidos. it was lots of fun. we went outside and played telephone. that was really weaird it was cool none the less.

Today was a fun day. I had a great time. Today we had the best day ever. We went outside and played telephone. We played telephone to show how the computers get the messages together that they send to other computers. We got most of the messages screwed up that were pased. We had juice and abreak at about 10:30. It was fun day. :)
