Techtronics
students will be working on four hands-on projects this year. Ultimately,
all lesson plans will be posted on this website for students to access from
home. For now, students can get a head start by studying the background
information found on each lesson page. We will begin by building model bridges
from state-of-the-art materials and testing them as if they were going to
be built. Then, we will built a heart monitor to measure the electrical
signals generated by our hearts. Next, we will be working with photovoltaic
(solar) cells to produce energy rather than using batteries or electricity.
And finally, we will use Lego Mindstorm kits to build operable robots. These
projects are designed to take students above and beyond the average middle
school (or even high school) science class. We are certian to learn a lot
and have a great time in the process. |
