Theory - Isocontour Plotting Tool

Application

The purpose of this tool is to visualize surfaces in three dimensions, in particular the contours of functions of three variables.

Algorithm

This tool uses an OcTree decomposition of x-y-z space. In each cube within the tree, a root finding method is used to solve for solutions of f(x,y,z)=c along the edges of the cube.

Architecture

The model is solved using a Java Applet.
