This week I got more familiar with JavaScript as I used it to make a blackjack program. It was hard at first, but I have accomplished a lot and am very happy with my results. I have also learned how to use PHP in a very basic way. I learned how to use JS to make a nice model that works. I hope that next week will be just as good.
I am most proud of my progress in my blackjack model. I was able to learn a lot of JS by making this model. I also was able to make pictures appear in the canvas, which was something I did not know how to do before. I am also proud that I made the Deforestation model for my apprentice project manager. This was an interesting experience to work with.
I am hoping to learn more about PHP in the future. With PHP I want to learn more about MySQL and Java. I want to learn this so that I can become a better programmer in the future. I cannot wait to come back to Shodor for block 2. It will be so fun.
Eric helped me so much with my Blackjack program. He helped me to find out about new functions and to fix many bugs with my site. He also taught me how to upload images to site onLoad. Ernie also helped me to realize the errors in my program. He then taught me how to make my program more efficient.
I helped Victor to make his Pacman model. He had some issues with movement and I was able to fix them for him. Kevin had some issues with his model, and I was able to counsel him into making the right decisions. I showed Kaleb and interesting site called thenewboston.org that helped him learn PHP and the others used it. So indirectly I taught all these guys PHP.
