During this Summer I learned many new things. I learned a lot about video editing while working on my project to make video tutorials for applets on the Interactivate website. I ended up doing a lot of video editing so I could get the video the way I wanted it. I also helped the Wii SmartBoard group with their project while I was waiting for more work to do.

In class at Shodor I used Vensim. I learned a little bit about Vensim during the Shodor Summer program, but had forgotten most of it. Vensim is a modeling program that does not normally run on Mac OS X so to run it has to emulate Mac OS 9. Vensim treats variables as groups unlike Netlogo or Agentsheets which treats each agent as a different object.

In class at Shodor I learned how to use Microsoft Excel. I did not know how to use Excel and learned a lot about how to use it and useful functions I could do with it. I learned how to use functions in Excel and how to make functions apply to multiple blocks in the spreadsheet. I also learned how to add sliderbars. I learned how to make graphs using Excel and the data I had already entered too.

In class at Shodor I used Netlogo. Netlogo is a code based modeling software thats is similar to Agent Sheets. I had learned how to use Netlogo during the Shodor Summer program. I was good at Netlogo and could do many things using it. I made a model that would model the reproduction of turtles.

In class at Shodor I learned more about Agent Sheets. I added more to my model of rabbits and grass. I added wolves that would eat the rabbits. If the wolves did not eat>, then they would die. Also the rabbits and wolves would reproduce. The rabbits also needed to eat, but there was normally enough grass for them to eat so they did not have to worry about food.

In class at Shodor I learned how to use Agent Sheets. Agent Sheets is a modeling software that serves the same purpose as Netlogo. Agent Sheets is a more graphical modeling software that uses commands in images instead of having to type the commands. I learned how to use it to model a simple population growth without predators. It was a model of rabbit population with the rabbits eating grass that also grew.

In class at Shodor I learned more about CSS and learned how to use Javascript. I knew some CSS and this helped me review advanced parts of CSS. I did not know how to use Javascript before and learned some today. I still don't know that much Javascript but I know more. I am hoping to learn more Javascript so I can do more advanced functions with it.

In class at Shodor I reviewed how to use CSS and started the math portion of the class. I had learned how to use CSS at the Shodor Summer program. I reviewed all the commands used in CSS and worked on my webpage using them. For the math unit we had to take math quizes to determine our level. We then did work based on our level.

In class at Shodor I learned about the rules of Shodor and ethics. I learned how I needed to dress for Shodor and other rules of Shodor. I also reviewed how to use Inkscape and Gimpshop. I learned how to use Inkscape and Gimpshop at the Shodor Summer program. It helped me remember how to use graphics programs.

In class at Shodor I learned how to upload my web page. I did not know how to upload web pages before. I had learned to make web page at the Shodor Summer program, but I had forgotten some of the things I had learned and was reminded of them in the class. I also learned the rules and got a tour of the area. I learned how to access my account and change my password.
