June 27th - July 1st

What I learned this week was how to code java applets into HTML5 and Javascript. My co-worker Thomas and I worked on getting the Interactivate activity "Coloring Multiples in Pascal's Triangle" to work on a different type of coding. This was a trial and had a lot of tedious work, but we got the activity working in the format we wanted.

July 5th - 6th

This week I only worked the 5th and the 6th, but I did learn more on Javascript and HTML. With the projects that I am being assigned I am learning more and more cool things with these languages, mainly the javascript language. This week I learned how to make an image as a button and also finished learning how to create the pascal's triangle applets.

July 11th - 15th

This week I learned how to make multiple images appear in a sequence when a button is clicked. It was actually harder than it seemed at first, but after a couple of hours of work I finally got the code working. With all of the different colors and images that were involved it took a while to finally finish it, but I got it done. A link to this work is HERE

July 18th - 22nd

This week I learned how to make a drop down menu for my personal website. It was very fun creating this because there are so many factors to include that can be manipulated. I also learned how to make a graph that can be manipulated by a user on click. It was pretty hard to figure out, but in the end me and my co-worker Sanket figured out the basic layout.

July 25th - 29th

This week I learned how to make a drop down paragraph. at first this seemed impossible, but after much research and tweaking, I finally figured out how to get the JavaScript code just right. I also learned how hard it is to teach a class full of rambunctious middle schoolers. Patience was key when teaching that class, but I got through it and look forward to more teaching.

August 1st - 3rd

This week I didn't have much time spent in the office, but I used most of my time preparing for the workshop that I taught on Wednesday. This workshop was a little easier because the kids were a little older and less talkative. We got a lot accomplished and I believe that the kids left the class with a better skill in inkscape.
