About Jennifer

Jennifer Houchins is a Computational Mathematics Mentor and Internship Coordinator at Shodor.  She shares her passion for learning through math and computational thinking workshops for middle, high school, and undergraduate students.  Jennifer is also deeply involved in professional development through the Computing MATTERS Initiative and the National Computational Science Institute. She is the managing editor for the Journal of Computational Science Education (JOCSE) and technical lead for the Computational Science Education Reference Desk (CSERD), a digital library funded by the National Science Foundation.  Jennifer especially enjoys working as a mentor for students, middle school through undergraduate, through Shodor’s Project SUCCEED and Mentor Center, the Blue Waters Undergraduate Petascale Education Program, and the LittleFe and BCCD projects.
