This model simulates the fluctuation of a population of fish and a population of seals within an ecosystem. Both populations will, at first, move around randomly, dispersing a scent into the environment. If a seal senses the scent of a fish it will chase after it, while a fish who detects the scent of a seal will run away. The seals will feed on fish who are adjacent to them, and the fish will feed on the kelp (green) located at the bottom of the model. If a population goes without food for too long it will starve.
Individual time steps can be viewed by clicking the "Step" button
The number of fish and seals can be changed in their respective fields. Note: excessive deviation from the default amounts can lead to an imbalanced model
The number of rows and columns can be changed by modifying the height and width fields respectively
Lastly, population and seal hunger can be viewed in the console, which can be accessed in safari through the developer menu or using the mac shortcut "option" + "command" + "c" (mac) or "option" + "control" + "c" (windows).
