This is my prime number checker V2.0!
This is a palindromec checker that I made!
This is my version of rock paper scissors! The main difference is my twist, you could get an Evil Ernie, which trumps all!
This is a program that will allow you to use any number sided dice you want! This is very handy if you role play; it even will allow you to facter in bonuses or penalties!
This game is played by trying to click on the right button! Remember, it is no fun if you cheat!
This website is almost like this website, but it has a different layout!
It has been awhile, but I still remember what I have learned. I learned how to use program, TextWrangler. I learned many new, and old, things, I hope to become very good at it. But I just hope I can remember everything. I even learned some very helpful stuff that will help me with TextWangler.
This e-mail, as you requested, is about my experience in math and science. I am currently taking geometry and biology. I am rather good at math, and even my teacher said that I am ahead of my math class. I also took earth science last year in the 9th grade. I also took algebra last year. I also am very into anything that involves math and or science.
I was rather interested in HTML. I found it rather neat, and I'm looking forward to learning more. I hope that I can come again next Saturday. I also hope that I will be great friends with all of my mentors. I made my own web however, it is not one that someone would like to go to on a regular basis. I helped a bit with the HTML, and learned it. I also think that I got to a wonderful start for the first class. I also think that I am good friends with Ernie. I hope to learn more about HTML. I also would like to learn a bit more about my peers. I also hope that we will get into Agent Sheets. But I just can't wait for everything, Shodor is more fun rather than work, and I'm glad to be here! Well, the only thing that I can think of is that Ernie helped me the most. He helped me when my computer was acting up. He even helped me, and everyone else, to learn a bit of HTML. I hope that we will learn more of it. All I did was show a typo that Ernie made. I also helped Philip a bit, but other than that, I did not help at all.
I am excited about Inkscape and Gimpshop. I found it very neat, and I learned some neat tools, like the stamp in Gimpshop. I do hope that the assignments I need to do will be good. I'm happy about the fact that I learned Gimpshop and Inkscape without any problems. I also made some very good points during class.I do hope that my good work will continue. I hope to learn more about Gimpshop. I think that it could be useful later in my life, and it is something very neat to learn. I would say that all of my teachers helped me today. I think Ernie helped me the most. I guess I helped the entire class, I made the suggestion to open Gimpshop while we were on break, so it would have time to load.
I had no classes today, just extra hours. I did a total of three web page prototypes and I am very proud of them. I had to draw them out on paper first, or course. I learned more about Inkscape and Gimpshop by just using them, even though I used Inkscape the most today. I guess I would like to learn more about Inkscape and Gimpshop. I was helped by Simon today, he gave me an idea what my web page prototypes should look like. I would hope that he gets better, he lost his voice today. I helped Precious a lot, she asked me very many questions, more than I wished or hoped. But I'm glad she asked questions, a part of me anyway, because I would like everyone here to do their best.
Today I learned more about Gimpshop and Inkscape, and had a great time learning it. I would like to learn more about it, but the lessons need to move on. I hope that we learn more stuff like Gimpshop and Inkscape. I think I'm most proud of the fact that I now know how to use Inkscape and Gimpshop better. Now I can make better pictures and whatnot. I hope that I will get better over time. I'm hoping to learn more about Gimpshop and Inkscape, but I know that this can't happen. We need to move on to other stuff, I'm kinda disappointed, but maybe I will find something that I like more. I would say that Ernie helped me the most. I have a few problems when I was using Gimpshop and Inkscape, and he helped me out a lot. I would say that I did not help at all, everyone was doing their work and had no questions. I wish that I could have helped anyway.
I had tons of fun learning CSS. It would have been boring, but Monty made it lots of fun to learn. We did go over the basics of html a little bit, but it was still fun. Before today, CSS was like Greek to me, but then, like magic, it all made sense. I was so happy and proud of myself, I hope to learn more. I also learned something I needed for Inkscape, which was very helpful. I hope to learn more about CSS. It was lots of fun. I even hope to learn more about how to make a good logo and all other things like it, right now I need help. I hope to cover a bit more HTML some more. I would say Monty helped me the most. He helped me learn CSS, I also need to thank Ernie because he showed me something I needed to know in Inkscape. I would say that I was unable to help anyone today. I think, at the most, I helped to answer some questions. I hope to be more helpful next week.
I did more CSS, and it was so much less complicated than last time. I also heard that we might use Round Cube instead of Squirrel Mail, and it is, for me, so much easier to use. I think that I am most proud of the fact that I was able to do CSS without being very confused. I might have had a few questions, but they were for very minor things. I also did a bit of Java, it is so picky... I am not looking forward to learning more Java; however, it was very picky. Even a wrongly capitalized letter would not allow Java to work. I would like to learn more about CSS, it is starting to make more sense to me. I would say that Ismael helped me the most. He answered all of my questions to the best of his ability. I also think that we have made a friendship. Matt also helped me a bit as well. I would say that I helped Matt out a bit. I helped him when his website would not be validated, and I helped solve the problem so that it could be validated.
Today we went over Agent Sheets, which I already knew about. It was so much fun, and Ernie made me add on many things to it so that I would not bug him, I guess. I would say that I was proud that I already knew about Agent Sheets. I would also say that I'm very proud of myself because I was able to do that Agent Sheet's homework in only something like thirty minutes! I hope to learn more about AgentSheets because I used it before, and would like to know more about it. I also hope to become an expert at it. I would say that Ada helped me a bit, she told me what to do so I could help our group. I think that she is a wonderful group mate. Ada does her share of the work load. I hope to work with her in the near future! I think that I did not help anyone this week, it was mostly class, so I could not help at all.
A man, from Cisco, came today, and gave us a talk about presentation. We also did some more Agent Sheets, and I learned many new things. I hear that we will learn NetLogo next time. Last time I used NetLogo, I was horrible at it... I hope I do better next time. I learned more about Agent Sheets. I also helped my fellow classmate. I hope to learn more about Agent Sheets. I am rather good at it, but I hope to get better at it. I also hope that I will be able to use NetLogo without getting confused at all, like I usually do with it. I would say, hands down, that Patricia Jacobs helped me a bunch. I had an error with Agent Sheets, she helped me with it. I helped Mauricio today, his Agent Sheets project was not working the way it should. I was able to help get him through the error.
I guess I was happy to learn NetLogo. And for once, I was not confused! I hope to get better at NetLogo, but I still prefer Agent Sheets. Agent Sheets, to me, is a better program because it is more simple. I was happy with the fact that I was not confused with NetLogo. The last time I used NetLogo, I was lost, and had no clue what to do. I do hope to learn more about NetLogo, it kind of reminds me of Agent Sheets, but you have more control over it. Also, it tells you if you made an error, unlike Agent Sheets. Agent Sheets will not tell the user if they made an error, or even where it is. I would say that no one helped me, mostly because I was able to use NetLogo and not get confused by it, for once. I would also say that I helped no one, I guess everyone didn't have any trouble with NetLogo today.
I would say that I was excited to learn more NetLogo. I learned, by myself, how to create a new depiction in NetLogo. I tried to make a chicken, but it turned up looking like a deformed, hunchbacked, ugly duckling. We got new partners today, and we got a bit far in our Agent Sheets project. My new partners are Pablo and Isabelle. I hope to learn more NetLogo, because I'm still having some trouble with it. I also hope to learn more about Pablo and Isabelle, so we can function as a group better. I would say that my group members helped me the most, which were Pablo and Isabelle. I helped my group with the project, but I think I will do the PowerPoint instead. To me, it is rather confusing. The errors in Agent Sheets are many, and to make matters worse, Agent Sheets won't, unlike NetLogo, tell you where you made the error.
We did not do much today, we just worked on our presentation skills. I think that I'm proud of the fact that I have improved my presentation skills. I have not heard of anything that I'm exited about to learn. I think that Ernie helped me out the most. Isabel and Pablo also helped. I think that I helped Isabel and Pablo with our presentation skills.
Today we learned how to make a graph on Excel. I'm very excited about this because I'm trying to make a program on Excel at home, and this knowledge will help me greatly. I think that I'm proud of the fact that now I can update an Excel program at my home so it will work better! I hope to learn more about Excel's formulas, such as creating a random number, and to round numbers down or up. I would have to say that Valerie helped me the most, like when the numbers on Excel were not acting the way they were supposed to. I would say that I helped Peitong with Excel when she needed help putting sliders on.
Not anything in particular. Today, we used Vensim. I disliked it, and I think this is the only program I do not like. It always kept crashing. I would have to say that Vensim kept crashing more than a car. The program would usual just crash for no reason. I didn't like that because then I had to save every single time I made a change, and that really slowed down my work. I'm proud of the fact that I saved often, because Vensim kept crashing on me. I have not heard anything that I'm too exited about, except for the fact we will no longer use Vensim. I think that Patricia helped me the most with my Vensim and my Perl. I helped Mauricio a bit when he couldn't get his Vensim working.
I was the most excited that I learned new codes for Perl programing. I was able to make a simple calculator using Perl. The calculator was able to do a problem with only one input, like 2+2 on only one line. I hope to learn more about Perl. I would say that Sandy helped me the most. He gave the the challenge of making a calculator on Perl that needs only one line of input. I didn't help anyone that much.
On the first day we learned about basic programing concepts. I found this rather easy to understand because I'm already quite advanced in Perl. On Tuesday, we learned some PHP. I found it rather uncomfortable to use because I just wanted to put in Perl coding. Later, we did some modeling. We used AgentSheets, and we made a basic model of zombie invasion. I was able to make a complex program very easily, because I'm very familiar with AgentSheets. I was able to have the humans die of old age and hunger. I later added a house to spawn humans because if I didn't, they would die out. On Thursday, me and Thomas mostly worked on a NetLogo project. He was a great NetLogo programmer, he was about advanced in it as I am with AgentSheets. I'm exited to present it as I think we both did a great job. I'm also excited that we will never cover XML, as it really confused me. I was proud that I didn't put any Perl codes into PHP. I'm proud of this because I found it hard not to put any Perl codes in it. I also am proud to know that my Perl knowledge did come in handy. We did some array_push and array_pop commands, and I already knew a lot about it. My Perl knowledge didn't come in so handy for a few things though. When started PHP, our first tool was echo. I had no clue what it did, but I was able to find it out by context clues. I also made an infinite loop using PHP.
I was proud because I was able to make it so the screen was filled with just the words "ERROR!" I'm also proud of the NetLogo project Thomas and I worked on. I do hope to learn more about PHP. I think with a bit of work, I could make a Perl to PHP program. If we do learn more about PHP, or any kind of program, I hope I could make a Perl converter with it. I also heard that we were going to learn more programming languages. I'm exited about that because there could be a new tool I will learn, and it could work with Perl. I also hope that the new programming languages are very close to Perl. I would love to be more fluent in another programming language other than Perl. I also hear that we are going to do more modeling. I would love that because I think it's neat, and it could come in useful some time. I do not hope to learn more Vensim.
I would say that I got a lot of help from many people. Elizabeth did help with a lot of things. She did help with the SimpleXML programming, as I do not understand it. Thomas was also a great help. When doing the NetLogo project, I did know a lot of the code, but there were a few things I didn't know. For one thing, I didn't know how to get the turtles how to spawn in an area that can change size. He was a great help because he knew how to do that. There were some other small problems that I didn't know how to fix, but Thomas came through and found out the reason for the error. David was also a great help. With our SimpleXML project, he made the XML file, which looked quite hard to make. I think I helped a few people. While working with Thomas, I was able to find some small errors along the way. There were a few errors that dealt with the order of the commands. We also found a bug where the human population was very high, and kept reproducing. I suggested a population limit. I already knew what to do, but Thomas seemed to know what he was doing. That suggestion helped a lot. I also helped the group out. I did, with the PowerPoint presentation for the NetLogo project, put in quite some information. I think I gave a lot of help with the NetLogo project.
All this week, we were learning Unix. We were learning a lot of commands, such as cd and ls. We even learned vi. I don't feel that comfortable with it, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. I'm quite glad that I learned Perl, because that knowledge helped me a lot. We also were working with Terminal a lot, and I found that fun. I even learned how to customize my Terminal. I learned how to make it tell time. I'm also learning Java! I hope to be able to make a game out of it some day, and I think that I could do a great job, as I'm quite advanced in Perl. I learned a lot about Unix. I even learned many commands that I find very useful. I'm already able to change the permissions for files.
I'm also proud of my Terminal setup. I have it to tell time, what file I'm currently in, and even how many commands I have put in, total. I even have it colored, but I'm still working on it, but when it is done, it will be great. I'm also proud that I'm learning Java! I hope to make a game out of it. I'll be even more proud when I learn even more Java, and when I can understand how it works. Also, I'm not doing Java Script, but regular Java. I hope to learn more Java. It might be hard, but I think I'll get the hang of it. I also hope that we learn more Unix, but I think I'm more interested in Java. I remember that I was exposed to a bit of Java earlier, and I hated it. Now I think I can understand it. I think that Java is okay right now, but I think I will like it more. I think that it will be great and fun to learn. I do hope, though, that we learn more Unix commands. I found it neat, and easy to do. But I do hope that we learn Perl. I love Perl because I find it easy.
I think that Jason helped me the most. He is teaching me Java right now. He said that he would get a book for me that would help me understand it better. Also, Joel helped me. I had a problem with Unix, and he helped me out. He told me what I was doing wrong, and I think I'll avoid it so it won't happen again. But, Jason still probably helped me the most. I think that he's glad that I want to learn Java. He has helped me a lot so far, and I think he will continue to do so. I look forward to being his student. I don't think that I helped much. I think I might have helped a class mate, but I'm not sure. I wish that I could have helped. I helped out during class though. I answered a lot of questions, and helped to contribute to the class. I wanted to answer every question, because I bet I'm very exited about it. I also helped to answer problems. I do hope to help more. I guess I also helped Jason, as he had to look up stuff that he didn't know for my Java learning. I guess I helped to refresh his mind.
This week, we learned about Java! I was exited because the last week, I was already exposed to it. Since I had an idea already about Java, I think that it helped me. I was able to understand it better, and I was able to contribute to the class. I'm also, in my free time, learning JavaScript. I was trying to make a random banner chooser in Perl, but I couldn't do it. Simon said that he would have to change my permissions around so I could do it. Jayson said that I should use JavaScript instead, and I'm almost done with it! What it is going to do is choose one of forty banners, and put it on my website. I do, though, want to learn more Java. I find it a neat program even though it really is not reliable.
I'm proud of many things. For one, I was able to make a GUI calculator in Java. It might be a simple calculator, but I made it, and I'm proud of it. I'm also proud of all my banners. I made a total of forty banners for my website. Currently, I am working on a JavaScript that will randomly choose one. I'm also proud of that as well. I was able to make almost all of my JavaScript without any help. It will be done by the end of the day, I hope. I'm putting in a lot of effort into it. I was also able to remake my website. I think that it is the best yet, and Elizabeth came up with the rough design idea for me. She suggest the general idea for my website.
I hope to learn more Java. Even though I had trouble with it, I think that it is a great tool. I was able to make a GUI calculator, and I hear that all of Interactive was written in Java. I think that one day, my code might just be on that website. I also hope to learn more JavaScript. I found it very useful, as I'm able to make a random banner chooser out of it. I did want to do it in Perl, but I didn't have the permissions to do so. So, to make things easier, I'm doing JavaScript. I just seemed to be quite exited about JavaScript. I bet that I will end up putting a lot of JavaScript on my website. I hope to branch out more in it.
I was helped a lot this week, but then again, we were working with Java. Jayson had to be the biggest help of all. He was able to tell me where I went wrong in my coding and gave me tips on how to do some things. I was able to, with his help, come up with the panel setup for my GUI calculator. I would also say that Matt was a very big help. When I had trouble using svn, he was able to help me. He also helped me when I was having some coding issues. He was a very good help when it came to Java as well. I also would think that Elizabeth was a huge help. She gave me an idea for my website design. I think that my website looks better than it used to be.
I'm not sure that I even helped anyone. I did contribute to my class quite a bit though. I was able to answer questions. I think that is the only thing that I did. I also helped my group. I did a lot of the Java for the calculator. I had already had a bunch of the calculator made before the project was assigned. I had some trouble, but I was helped by Jayson a lot. I also helped my other group as well. Were were making a model, and I was able to find some values that no one else was able to find. I also helped to remind them to save early and often, as Vensim crashes more than cars.
I would say that I' exited about many things this week. First thing, we are having a movie night! I bet that it is going to be so much fun. I also learned that Luke had a guess game on his website. He said that it was in PHP, so he was able to make a high scores table. I think that I will ask him how he did that. We also installed "Tinker" for our WebMO. We downloaded it onto our virtual machines. I found it to be fun, even though it was tough at some points. I also hear that there is not going to be anymore AMC. Personally, I found it long and hard.
I'm proud of many things. For one, my guessing game is coming along great! I'm able to have it come up with a different number each time the last one was guessed. I also have a guess count added as well. I found this to be hard work, but I'm happy about it. Also, it is in JavaScript. I'm making another one, but it is in PHP. I just started on it, and I already have the random number chooser up and running. I hope to make a high scores table. I'm also proud of my own WebMo. I'm already making complex molecules.
I kinda want to learn system administrator. We are learning a lot of neat stuff in it. I'm also learning how to install something through terminal. I bet that some day, it is going to come in handy. I also hope to learn more about PHP. Even though I think that I'm better at JavaScript, I think that it is more powerful. I hope that I learn how to make a high scores table. I might be able to do it in JavaScript, but I doubt it. I'm kinda of hoping to learn more Java, but at a slower pace. I find it to be kinda hard. I also wish that we could learn Perl.
I would say that Bethany helped me a lot. She helped me to clear up my paper. I would also think that Luke helped me. He helped me to solve a problem I was having with my guessing game. Even though his answer worked, it didn't suite what I needed. I also think that Jonathon helped a lot. He was able to help me with some validation errors. Ernie also helped. I didn't send in an e-mail about wanting to go to the movies. Ernie took care of it for me. I hope that I don't make the same mistake again.
I would say that I helped a bit. For one, I found out why a command didn't work in Terminal. We were installing Tinker for WebMO, and a command to make it was not working. After a while, I found why it didn't work. It turns out that we were not in the right file! I also helped a girl with her website. It was during the open house. She was having problems with margin and padding. I was able to help her, and explain why it had to be that way. I also told her of a better background for her website. I hope to help more!
We did not really have classes this week. We were working on our projects all week long. My group made a database that stored questions that people had. I was kinda excited that I wrote most of the PHP. I found it to be fun. I also learned a bit more of Perl! I learned how to do regular expressions. I found it useful, as it helped me improve my Perl prime number checker. I'm quite exited about it, as it says if a number is prime, or composite! I also made one in PHP, but it is not as powerful. I hope that I learn more Perl.
I'm proud of many things. For one, I made most of the PHP for my project. I'm proud because I do not know PHP very well! I think I was able to do so well is because it is quite similar to Perl. I guess that my Perl knowledge came in very handy! I also learned how to make a website using PHP. I also learned about block variables in PHP, and I was able to understand it! I'm also proud of my prime number checker. It is a bit slow, but I think that I might be able to fix it. I'm also happy that I learned a bit of MYSQL. It was not much, but it was some.
I hope to learn many more things. For one, I want to learn more Perl! I find it very easy to use, and it helps me with my PHP. I also think that I should learn more of PHP. Even though it is similar to Perl, it still has differences. I should learn how to make sessions in PHP, as I should know how they work, as I had help making one. I also want to learn more MYSQL I guess. It might come in handy some day. I also hope to learn more about how to make a website using PHP. I also should learn, if it is possible, how to make a website that has some JavaScript in it. I even want to learn more about Perl regular expressions.
I say that I got a lot of help! Gaven was probably the most helpful. He would drop what he was doing, and help me with my PHP. I learned many things because of him. I also got help from Ishmael! He was also able to help with my PHP. He was even able to deal with problems that even Gaven didn't know how to solve. Ernie also helped some. He helped with my debugging process. That was a big help. Joel even was of great help. He was able to answer some questions that I had for him.
I think that I was of great help to Joel. I was helping with the SNAP 2 project. I made the accounts for everyone that had a valid picture. I did run into some in-valid pictures, but Joel will show me how to deal with them later. I guess I also helped out my group. I was able to do my part, and more. I wrote most of the HTML and PHP. It was not easy, but it got done. I also helped Isabelle with her ODAA. I was able to set out drinks for the workshop students. I think that I was a great help!
I think I'm exited about PHP. I find it very neat! I have learned many things this week about PHP. I have greatly improved my guessing game. It is all in PHP. I have added many things. I even added many difficulty levels. I also added a bonus option. My score system still needs a bit of work. I hope that I can fix it.
[I'm proud of] My guessing game. It was a lot of work. It is the second most advanced guessing game here as Shodor. Soon, I will add a high scores table. I'm also proud of my project. It was a lot of work, but we got it done. I also fixed a very huge bug with it. It was not easy, but I got it done. I'm also proud that I helped Isabelle. Some things that she needed fixed were not that easy, but also not hard.
[What am I hoping to learn more of?] Nothing really. I might want to learn more about MYSQL. MYSQL was used in our project. I found it a bit confusing, but at least I didn't have to handle it. I do hope to learn more PHP. I find it very neat and useful. I want to learn how to make more games with it. I also hope to learn more about NetLogo. I helped present it on Friday. It reminded me that I was still interested in it.
Many people did help me. Gaven was the biggest help. He helped with our project, and my guessing game. We needed a lot of help, and he helped us even though he was in the middle of something. Ismael also helped a bit. He helped me find a PHP beautifier. He also talked me out from making one. It would be a project within itself. I might have given up on it by now. Luke was also of help. He helped me come up with a formula for my guessing game.
I helped many people. I helped to introduce NetLogo to a workshop of Friday. It was fun, and it helped as well. I also managed to help Simon. The closet needed more floor space, and I did that. I made it much more clean, and gave it more room. I also helped my group out as well. I helped fix a bug that came up with our project. It was kinda of a challenge, but I learned more about sessions out of it. I even helped to put something onto our project that Isabelle wanted!
I have learned many things. Today, I learned about SNAP2. I also found out that if I have one piece of content on, say, twenty pages, I could just edit that content, if it is on SNAP2, and it will update it on all pages! I hope to learn more things that it can do.
I don't think that I did that much today. All I did was to offer, and did, clean the black bored. It was very messy, but I was able to do it. I also fixed up my guessing game, and prime number checker! I like to think of those as my pride and joy.
I do hope to learn more about SNAP2, as said earlier. I seem to find it as a very powerful tool to use. I, however, would have to learn more about XML, which I'm no good at. I guess that I'm hoping to learn more about XML, but only so I can use SNAP2 more effectively. I also hope to learn more about PHP, as I am starting to write in it a bit more, even think in it!
I was helped quite a bit today. Monty helped me to fix a little bug on my guessing game! Kaitrin also helped me a bit as well. She helped me with some questions that I had. I would think that Ernie helped me as well concerning a past project.
I don't think that I helped anyone at all. I did, however, help someone to fall over... We were doing a funny picture, and I fell... Also some other people... But that is probably some help no one would ever want...
I have learned about Software Development Process today. We learned about what it is for, and some different ways how to follow it. I found it very neat, and it was something that I have never even, or knew about! I do think that some day, it will come in handy. Also, I hope to learn more about SNAP2, because I have been using it today.
I didn't really do anything today that I'm very proud of. I did learn, however, about something that I found very confusing. We learned a lot of the terms used in that Software Development Process, such as models. I kept thinking that the models was the thing being made, but it was how the process of making it was carried out. I some what hope to learn more about Software Development Process because I need to work on mine.
I hope to learn about many things. Like Software Development Process as said earlier. I also hope to learn more about PHP, because I have been using a lot of it as well. I seem to have a likeness for it as I do for Pearl. I hope to also learn more about NetLogo, as I had to be dealing with it a lot as well.
I had so much help today by so many people. Johnathan was a huge help, he helped to explain some of the terms used in the Software Development Process. Bethany was also a huge help by answering some on my questions. Andrew was also an enormous help. He uploaded the reference tool handout for the NetLogo project.
I don't think that I helped anyone today. If at all, I helped Yili with the essay that we did during class. I also explained what the task was for our project. I also helped to contribute ideas during the class activity as well. I hope to be able to help more in the future!
I was not extremely excited about this week's lesson. We went over VV and A, also QA. I found it to be somewhat interesting though, I kinda liked the process of how things go through QA. I was also already quite familiar with QA, but not that much in VV and A. I knew a little about VV and A, but just not the structure of it.
During the class, we had to make a website go through QA. I did my prime number checker, and found an area which made it improve! I found a way to make it go twice as fast when checking a number if it is prime or composite. I somewhat think that QA is used for more of improving a website. I'm very glad that I got my prime number checker to work much faster, as I had trouble trying to do the same thing before.
Well, I did hear that we might go over Perl next year! I'm very excited about that, as I find it so much fun! I also hear that we are going to go over more php, and I'm excited about that too, as I find php and Perl to be very similar. I also, somewhat, want to go back over VV and A, as it could be useful to me in the future. Other people, when trying to put a website through QA, tried to find bugs, then they presented them! I found that to be a lot of fun.
I was not really helped that much. Yili was supposed to give me his step by step tutorial on NetLogo today, but it didn't help that he failed to do so. Patrica was a big help though! She was always able to answer the questions that I had. During the next class, I'll be sure to ask more questions.
I never really helped anyone at all today. If at all, I helped out my group while we put my prime number checker though QA. It was, I would think, really helpful to me, as I was able to fix a speed issue with it. I would also think that I helped Patrica. I was able to answer questions during class; however, I think that I answered a few too many.
I did not really learn anything new. All that I did was review PHP. We went over the functions print, substr, strlen, strrlen, Ect... The last two, I never really used. I think that I will really have no use for them.
I really didn't learn anything new. I am proud of, however, that I already knew PHP. I already knew how to do all of the problems that we were assigned to do. I'm even proud of the fact that I showed up today. I have a rather bad cold, and now have laryngitis.
I do hope to learn more about PHP. I find it to be a lot of fun, and maybe I will get to learn some functions that will help to improve my own projects. I still hope that we will learn more about Perl, as I still have a great fondness for it. I think that I could stand to learn more about arrays. We are going to be learning more about them later today.
I would say that Ismael helped the most. He didn't, however, help me that much. I just had some questions that I wanted answered. I never really have that many big problems that I need help with. I guess that I never really forgot what I learned since last time I was here
I really didn't help anyone. If anything, I helped them catch the cold that I have. If I were to help someone again, I sure hope not to help them get sick. I hope to help them with some question that they have. I don't think that I have helped anymore for quite some time.
I learned about a few new things in PHP. I learned about foreach loops, and found them to be very useful. I have even learned about how to use PHP to place content onto my webpage, even though it is in a different file! I also know that we are going to be going over functions later. I already know a bit about them; however, I would like to learn more about them.
I was proud of a few things today. The biggest thing was that I already knew a lot about PHP before I came to today's class. I also came last week, and stayed a bit in the class that was being taught. This allowed me to get a head start in functions, which I seemed to have picked up very fast. I can't wait to show how much I know about them later today.
There are so many things I heard about that I want to learn. For one thing, I know that I'm going to be learning more about functions. I just find them so fascinating; I just seem to love the idea to write my own command. Since I attended a bit to last week's class, I know that I will enjoy learning it all over again. This will also help me with some of the areas about functions that I'm not too sure about; that area is almost nonexistent!
I would have to say that Valerie helped me a lot today. I know that I might be getting much help from Joel with my PHP today though, as I already know quite a bit about today's lessen. He did, however, show me some other programing languages... Some of the languages were just so hard that it was insane and useless... One of the languages were so complex, that the "Hello World" program was hardly readable...
I'm not sure that if I helped anyone at all today... I did show Hun where I got my bottles of water though. I'm also sure that I might be able to help Joel with today's lessen. Since I already know functions, I might be able to help with today's lessen. I hope that I will be able to help more people next week.
I learned quite a few new things in this week. For one, I'm starting to learn how to make PHP interact with databases! I even learned how to make rollovers in Javascript... I even learned how Johnathan has a hatred for Plone! I've also learned how to input information into a table within databases, although I might have already known that...
I've learned quite a few things with PHP. I've learned how to open a database in it, and how to close it. I also learned how to put information from a database into an array. I still need to learn how to put it into tables, or just get around to it. I also learned how to make a picture change when I pressed down on it.
I hope to learn more about PHP. I really enjoy programing in it, and I seem to just get it. I also hope to learn more MYSQL. It seems to bit a bit fussy at first, but I think that I might be getting the hang of it. I also hope to learn more about GimpShop; I use it to make banners on my website, and I hope to learn how to use more of the filters that I use to make the banners.
A lot of people helped me this week. Valerie, for one, was a very big help in correcting our database. Johnathan was also helpful in sending in corrections for our HLD document. Johnathan also helped with my JavaScript. I had trouble making my rollovers work... He pointed out a spelling error I had in my code that made it broken...
I think that I was a big help this week. I helped out a few people in the web design workshop, and I seemed to have enjoyed doing so. I even helped out my group mates. I helped by doing the coding to create the tables in the database. Other than that, I can't seem to recall helping out anyone else, or it is just not big enough to talk about.
I did a lot of things that I found exciting! I learned more SModel, which seems very useful! I really enjoy using it, it takes a lot of the hard work out of programing! I also found a strange error in Succeed. It was dealing with the login, It showed me logged in as "."...
I was proud of many things this week! Within two days, Yili and I both made so much progress with our programs! We were also early into the programming. I'm also proud of the fact that I was able to do a few things on my own without Valerie's help... I often really needed her help.
I hope to learn a lot more things! I would like to learn more SModel. I find it so useful and so neat. I hope to be able to use it more in the future... I find it neat to program with it, as I seem to find objects neat!
I got a lot of help this week. For one, Valerie was a huge help to me! She was able to tell me all the things that I needed to do, and was able to give me pointers to get into the right direction. Sandy was also a help. When I wanted to see the SSP presentations, he covered the reception desk for me.
I'm not sure if I helped that much this week. I helped Yili a bit though. He had a few questions, and I was able to help him. It was not that much I guess... Perhaps I could help more next time.
Well, I learned a bit out Blender this week! William needed to test teach someone, and I was chosen. I found it to be a very neat program. I also learned a bit more PHP! I was quite happy, it will help to keep my future PHP files more secure.
I think that that I did a few things that I'm proud of! I was able to make the webpage a bit more secure, thanks to Dayyan's help. I even was able to make it so that I could edit an applicant's information, with some help though, I think... I also was able to get a bit done with the project again... Though I'm so close to finishing it, yet so far...
Oh, nothing really... I'd like to learn more PHP,,, And perhaps more SModel... I, although, would like to learn how to get the PHP file I'm working on to work... It seems as though that I will input a lot more test information before I get the thing to work...
I got a lot of help from a lot of people. I got help from Dayyan, he helped to make the site more secure. Valerie was a great help again, as usual. Jonathon was also a big help! But, then again, Jonathon also made two messes ... Including having me inform everyone of something that was supposed to help, but had a big security hole in it...
Well... I helped my group! I did my part I would say. I'm not sure if I helped that much this week... I seem to be busy getting help from Valerie though... I really need it so I can get our project to work.
I have learned a lot more things this week. Although, it was basically on the same things. I did, however, hear of the upcoming forensics workshop! I volunteered to be a suspect in it! It seems like it is a very interesting workshop!
I did quite a few things this week. For one, I got the payment system in out project to work! I even got a working receipt as well! It seemed to have been a little difficult, but I seemed to have managed. I'll be glad when I can get a particular table here to work... It has the column names as the workshops, and if an applicant is in it, the price of the workshop shows up, else, it comes up as zero.
I'm kind of hoping to learn more about that upcoming forensics workshop. It seems to be very neat. Other than that, I really didn't learn about anything else... I hope to get my project to work though... I'm having a bit of trouble with this part...
I have to say that it was Valerie, Johnathan, Joel and Dayyan. Everyone was a ton of help. Joel and Johnathan helped to make my receipt look very nice on paper. Dayyan helped with getting ids out of databases... And Valerie helped with things that I didn't understand. Everyone was very helpful.
Well... I helped Yili with the project. I did my part, and a bit of debugging. I even fixed the forum builder. I'm not sure if I could say that I helped more than that. I did nothing more than that really...
I really did not learn new things this week. I learned a bit about Deafstem, so that was kinda neat. I also saw a PHP file that Hun made. It translated HTML to XML. that was really neat; it also closed tags left opened.
Well, I did Q and A on deafstem. That seemed to have taken a shorter amount of time that it should have. I also seemed to have remembered what internet is in sign language; I'm not one to really remember things. I also fixed up my games, and put them into a directory called games. I also debugged my guess the number game.
I don't think that I have learned anything that I'm excited about this week... I guess i would like to learn more about PHP... Nothing else really... Although, it is kinda neat the way Hun was able to make that HTML to XML code. I wonder if it would be possible to do a PHP to Perl...
I would say that I got a lot of help from Valerie, Hun, and Sandy this week. Sandy was able answer a lot of my questions concerning deafstem. Hun also helped me help him to convert HTML to XML. Valerie also helped Yili and I with the last bit of out Succeed project. That was kinda interesting.
I helped Hun and his group. I also helped Yili a bit. I helped Yili a tad with the Succeed page, but not as much as Valerie is right now, and has today. I was helping Hun convert HTML to XML. I guess that I also helped Valerie with a broken plate and cup.
I didn't really learn that much this week... I mostly worked on my code... I did learn, however, that it was possible for me to have my unix commands play a sound when I used them! I hope to learn how to do that in the future! I also hope to learn more SModel2; I seem to be getting good with it.
I'm proud that I was able to get our project done at last! There were quite a bit of requests for how the webpage to be set up and how it worked. I'm glad that I was able to do them all, and was able to add a few of my own touches as well. I'm also proud of the fact that many people liked my Keylime Pie minitarts at the potluck. It shows that I can be a great cook!
Like I stated before, I hoping to learn more of SModel2 and how to get my unix commands to play a sound when I use them. It would seem to be fun when I changed my directory that paper being rustled was sounded. I also hope to learn more about SModel2; I seem to enjoy using it. I find it to be quite enjoyable to program in it, not sure why, but it is. I'm also hoping to learn more about what we will be doing next summer!
I got quite a bit of help from Valerie and Ernie again. Valerie showed me how to make my .htaccess to store a get variable. Ernie also helped to make my code work more properly, like it won't accept negative numbers for scholarships. I would also say that Joel helped as well; when my archive page seemed to get a lot of errors, he fixed the common and they disappeared, except for two which involved Dayyon trying to help me. Jayson also helped me by showing me how to start to make a PDF file, though I was never really able to finish it.
I would say that I helped my group. I helped to present, and I helped to fix up the code. I think that is about as much as I really did this week... Maybe next summer I would be of more help. But, I guess I was good at helping when, and if, I did it.
