Today was the first official work day at the Shodor Succeed Apprenticeship program. We created our official Shodor login accounts and discussed what the program would entail. We went over proper office behavior and the guidelines and official rules of the program, such as the dress code, absence policy and the deadlines that would need to be met throughout the course of the program.

Today was the second official work day at the Shodor Succeed Apprenticeship program. We learned about the sufficiency, consistency, necessity and conclusiveness of science and their places in the world of computers. We also discussed how expectation, observation and reflection should take place in every life situation.

Today was the third official work day at the Shodor Succeed Apprenticeship program. I was absent this work day and had to make it up later. On this day, the proper use of Microsoft Excel was taught. We put formulas into different cells and then put different numbers in each cell and watched how new numbers and information were produced. We then pt this information into graphs.

Today was the fourth official work day at the Shodor Succeed Apprenticeship program. I was absent this day and had to make it up later. On this day, the proper use of Terminal was taught. We learned the different Unix Commands that can be used in Terminal and how to use them. We created, moved, renamed and deleted files and documents in Terminal through the use of these commands.

Today was the fifth official work day at the Shodor Succeed Apprenticeship program. I was absent this work day and had to make it up later. On this day, we continued to use Terminal and learned how to create a Vensim model. We used Vensim models to demonstrate the effect of a population of sick people of a group of healthy but susceptible people.

Today was the sixth official work day at the Shodor Succeed Apprenticeship program. I was absent this work day and had to make it up later. On this day, we used the information we created in the Vensim models and represented though a new computer modeling program called Agentsheets.

Today was the seventh official work day at the Shodor Succeed Apprenticeship program. We began our group projects. We had to create a Vensim model and an Agentsheet and use them to show the effect of tagged fish and tagged seals on a population of nontagged fish and nontagged seals. I created the Agentsheets model while my partner created the Vensim model.

Today was the eighth official work day at the Shodor Succeed Apprenticeship program. We continued to work on our group projects. I finished some of the work on the Agentsheets model, but I had to come in on several days outside of the Saturday sessions to finish my project because I would not be there to present on the Saturday that they were due.
