GIMP

GIMP is a bitmap photo editing software, which means that it uses pixels to draw with. While it is advantageous to be able to draw each individual pixel, if a bitmap drawing is scaled too large, it could look very unrealistic and difficult to decipher.

PhotoShop

In this project, we edited pictures of Ernest. I had PhotoShop at my house so I used that program to edit the photos.

InkScape

InkScape is a vector drawing software. A vector drawing means that the computer uses mathematical formulas to draw the desired shape onto the screen, rather than by using pixels. Although it is nearly impossible to be as specific with vector images as bitmap images, vector images can be rescaled to any size and will still have high resolution.
