Using Paths/Unions - TARGET LOGO
In Inkscape:

PATHS & UNIONS (5) - demo how it works

Go to
Path > ...

Union - adds multiple shapes together - same attributes making a new shape

Difference - subtracts the image on top from the image on the bottom - CUT OUT
-
Intersection - saves the part of the "top image" that intersects with the bottom
-
Exclusion - opposite of "Intersection" saves everything but the middle
-
Division - Cut apart an image - top image cuts from the bottom
-
Go to
File > Open
-
Click on
Desktop
-
In the Window click
Inkscape Files
-
Open
TARGET.jpg
-
Look at image:
-

WHAT IF? You wanted the logo to float on top of a complicated background?

Go to
Layer > Add Layer

Draw a red circle
-
Draw a smaller black circle on top
-
Click on both - WHICH PATH OPTION? (allow for response)

Go to
Path > Difference - See what happened?

Finish up logo - draw a smaller red circle in side large circle

Type
TARGET - fill in red (probably
ARIAL)
Go to
File > Save As

Type in: yourname TARGET.svg

Click Save
Go to
File > New > Default (new window - close or leave open - up to you)
