1st GIMP activity: Blimp
Open "blimp.jpg"
Use wand to select the blue background around the blimp (threshold of 30)

Select > invert (CTRL+I)

Edit > copy (CTRL+C)

Edit > paste (CTRL+V)
the blimp is pasted onto a new layer as "floating selection" dbl click on the TEXT "floating
selection" and rename it "blimp", then hit "enter" so now, when you click the eye OFF on the
original "background layer" your "blimp" layer should have no blue background delete (trash)
the original "background layer"

SAVE!!
Duplicate the layers several times
Use the scale tool (reminder: if you scale down, you lose image quality forever) in the toolbox,
select "scale" and use the handles to scale up the image
Use the move tool to move the new scaled blimps around
Create new layer behind blimps
Click on color box to change color & fill in with a color for the sky

Create clouds in the background with airbrush tool

Change color to white (or whatever color)

Choose soft tip brush, and make sure edges are feathered

Paint

SAVE!!
