ASL | Who uses computational science? |
ASL | The local news program uses weather models to predict tomorrow's weather. These models are made by computational scientists to better understand the atmospheric processes that create weather.
|
ASL | Scientists in Homeland Security use computational science to study how anthrax bacteria spread through an office. They also study how smallpox would spread if it were introduced into a community. They use models to experiment with different vaccination strategies. |
ASL | Geologists use computational science to study the forces that cause earth quakes and volcanoes.
|
ASL | Biologists studying the human genome use computational science to study the interaction of proteins that our genes produce. |
ASL | Astronomers use computer models to explore how galaxies collide and interact. |
ASL | Environmentalists use computer models to predict the effect of global warming on plant diversity and competition. |
ASL | Anyone who wants to study events that are too dangerous, too expensive, too far away, or take too long to do in a lab, uses computer models. |
