Day 2
The kids began the morning by watching a video on Otzi the Iceman, which they all took notes during. When they returned to the room, they were told to make questions that they would ask Otzi if he were around to be asked. One of the teachers, Sam, then took on the role of Otzi the Iceman and responded to the kids' questions, which hit various subjects such as the society of his time, his job, his dating situation, and what he would do for fun. The interviewers had to keep in mind that Otzi was not a native English speaker, and had to word their questions accordingly and use improvised sign language and drawings on the whiteboard to convey their meaning.
After the interviews were finished, Tiffany made a diagram of Otzi's final day based on what Otzi had said to the students. They then listened to a recording by a scientist of a narrative about Otzi's final battle and eventual death. The students then discussed his final hours and what the discoveries about Otzi have told us today.
