Math Explorations |
The first in a three part series designed for students with a strong interest in chemistry or molecular biology. Each of the three courses in the series consists of eight (8) 90-minute sessions. In Introduction to Computational Chemistry students will learn the technologies, techniques, and tools of computational chemistry, including the underlying methods, mathematics, and computer programs of computational chemistry. Students will use the NC High School Computational Chemistry Server for their lab work. Pre-requisites: some chemistry, solid algebra background, comfort with computers. All materials will be provided. Students can enroll in one, two or all three courses in the series. Registration is limited to 20 students, on a first-come, first-serve basis. Academic credit is available from local high schools (Course: Independent Study in Chemistry), or students can participate for no credit. To the workshop webpage! |
