This is an 18-hour workshop designed to introduce middle and high school students to the investigation of a wide variety of sciences through the application of experiments and scientific research and data. Using several different method of investigation, they will compile and compare data research using graphs and spreadsheets. As a part of the scientific process, students will also learn to communicate their observations and findings to each other as well as to a professional audience.
The workshop will involve structured hands-on labs and activities, experience preparing research documentation and, the opportunity to work collaboratively with other students on small projects. Careful observations and reporting of those observations will be emphasized at all times.
