This year-round program is designed to help those students who don't normally succeed in science and mathematics get to college. The goal is to increase the number of historically underrepresented students-minorities and females-pursuing science and mathematics at the university level and moving into related careers. More than 300 high school students receive rigrous instruction in biology, chemistry, physics, and research methods at six North Carolina universities. Enrichment activities include visits to local businesses and industry sites, field trips to local and national museums, visits to universities and interaction with role models.
