More than 250 students in the Durham County and Orange County schools participate in this year-round program, which is intended to cultivate responsible environmental decision-making and to engage students in school and community environmental education programs. The program involves middle school students of all ability levels. Each student selects a topic in sixth grade and focuses on that subject for the next three years, culminating in a presentation in the eighth grade.
