Rural communities in Western North Carolina counties are the main target group for this one month summer program. Students who are interested and skilled in environmental sciences will be able to participate and interact with developing scientists who are in college. Some activities at the camp include presentations from students who will be traveling 2000 miles on various rivers, teaching different communities along the way. The main focus will be environment and ecologies. Including subjects such as river drainage systems, the effects of human intervention, and different career opportunities in environmental science. |
