I am interested in modeling chemical reactions using Stella. After modeling a physical system (spring) I then applied the Lotka-Volterra model to a theoretical chemical system. Once parameters were found that gave oscillations, I moved to a more complex theoretical chemical system known as the "Brusselator". Finally, an attempt was made to model a simplified Belousov-Zhabotonsky Reaction scheme. The model was constructed, but variables which will produce oscillatory behavior have not yet been found. This work will be adapted into project form for my Computational Science class, and prerhaps for a kinetics discussion in an upper-level Inorganic Chemistry class.
