This project is being developed as part of EdGrid. EdGrid is a Dept. of Education effort aimed at improving the mathematical preparation of future teachers of middle grades mathematics. In particular, the resources brought todgher or developed in this project form the beginning of a plan for impacting preservice teacher preparation for middle grades mathematics at ECU. This impact is designed to better prepare these future teachers through curriculum and instruction enriched by mathematical modeling and visualization tools. These tolls are aimed at improving(1) the mathematics learning of preservice teachers and (2) to introduce them to tools that they can--in at least some cases-- use with their future students. Some of the tools used in this project are Stella, Excel, Geometer's Sketchpad, and WWW- accessible applets such as Project Interactivate.
