SummaryCollect and review HPC resources and post them on the HPCU website at http://www.hpcuniv.org. Also design computational science and HPC problems for high school and college students.
Job DescriptionHPC University is working to create greater interest among today'™s students to pursue HPC education and careers.

This position is responsible for helping the HPC University team to collect exemplars of HPC training and education programs for sharing with the community. The process will begin by collecting engaging videos and scientific visualizations that can spark the imagination of students across the K-20 spectrum. The process will include collecting and reviewing effective training and education program information as well as materials and resources for broad dissemination through the HPC University digital library of NSDL.

The process will also include developing and posting problem sets that can be used to challenge the imagination of students to want to learn more about applications of HPC in all fields of students.

The position will also participate in workshops to assist faculty and students with learning HPC skills.

The person in this position will work directly with the Blue Waters Technical Program Manager for Education at NCSA.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

- 50\% - Search for HPC related programs, materials, and resources; review the materials; post the materials on the HPC University web site
- 20\% - Design a range of computational science and .HPC problems that span all disciplines and a range of knowledge from high school students to graduate students
- 20\% - Work with an international team of people involved in the HPC University project
- 10\% - Report on the activities on a regular basis.
Conditions/QualificationsEducation or experience required:

- Student currently enrolled in a college or university at the undergraduate or graduate level in computer science, computer engineering, computer graphics, multimedia design, or a related field.
- Experience in scientific applications across a variety of disciplines.
- Experience in Web design.
- Experience with wiki environments.
- Experience with online information systems, including database-driven websites, especially in a dynamic networked environment.
- Working knowledge of UNIX, PC, and Macintosh computers and the Internet.
- Excellent technical understanding of the Web.

Additional requirements:

- Experience creating and maintaining web sites with database backends
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- The ability to work comfortably with a wide range of colleagues, nationally and internationally
- Ability to be flexible in project scheduling to meet changing priorities.
- Excellent understanding of the Web, both as a technology and as a form of communication.
- Ability to work in a virtual organization
