Associated Colleges of the South

The Associated Colleges of the South, a coalition of thirteen colleges and universities, is dedicated to improving liberal arts education within its member institutions. The ACS allows collaboration between the colleges to develop innovative programs that would otherwise be impossible. Students, faculty, and staff of the thirteen colleges will benefit from shared information, collaboration, and seminars provided by the Association that focus on current social issues.

Internation programs are an important part of the Association's goals. Programs involving Central Europe and Zimbabwe are already a reality; other locations are currently under consideration for future ventures. Collaboration with colleges and universities world-wide, as well as international faculty, provide students with cultural experience as well as oppurtunities for increased collaboration.

By providing ACS professors with training in the computational sciences, the Shodor Foundation has provided reasources and experience in computer modeling to the Association. A recent workshop focus on numerical modeling and interactive learning environments.
