Purpose: The Pilot applet allows you to simulate two type sof motion, motion without any external forces, and motion with external forces. In space dock mode, you can pilot a space shuttle through a space dock, with no air resistance. In boat dock mode, you can pilot a boat through a water dock, with drag forces included.

In each mode, the goal is to pilot your vessel towards the slip, marked with a purple rectangle. You cannot collide with any objects, or with the walls of the dock, and you must mack contact with the slip at a slow enough speed to dock safely.

You have two circular controls at the bottom right of your applet. The top controls your acceleration. You set the acceleration of your vessel by clicking and holding the mouse inside the circle. The second control shows your velocity. It will turn yellow if you exceed the safe docking speed, and red if you exceed the dock's speed limit.
