Neuse River Wildlife

The Neuse is home to many species of wildlife. Many mammals, reptiles, birds, and fish all live in the river and within its watersheds. If you got in a canoe and paddled all the way down the river, you would find a wide variety of animals.

Here's a deer,

Of course, there are lots of fish in the Neuse River, too! But in 1995, millions of fish started dying in the river. Why did that happen?
